I agree with the anticipation/ excitement thing. All my dogs did it, and the cat would do it when she was pissy.
I do it when the sun hits my eyes. Someone once told me after 7 sneezes your brain explodes..I cut that myth down lol!

Wow, Becky, that is just -- umm -- weird? funny? bizarre? Definitely something unique! Or at least I've never heard of anybody who sneezes when the sun hits their eyes.

This made me remember an acquaintance of decades ago ... he did indeed sneeze (several times in succession) when the sun got in his eyes.
I hadn't thought of that in many many years!

Oh, and yes, everyone thought it was weird and bizarre!

Now that is interesting! I never heard of it at all, let alone that up to a third of the population might have the propensity. Thanks for that link, Connie. And some people think this is just a plain ole' dog forum. Look what else you can learn here!
Wow, read it from wikipedia..that's me..even the food one..and when I turn out the lights to go to bed..lucky eveyone here is used to the loud nose horn!
I wouldn't doubt it goes with Tourettes. I have the body twitches in the muscles, my son has the vocal/ body tics.
So all in all, blame it on my dad!
Wow, very interesting article, Connie. I didn't know anything of it.
My husband and I react like this, he much stronger than I. We avoid sunlight as far as we can, but it happens also on the overshadowed veranda as wll as indoors.
This seems to be the explanation for our sneezing attacks. In Switzerland we never had any, unless we had a cold.
Strange, our dogs never sneeze! Perhaps because they're brazilians, used to a lot of sunlight and knowing when to avoid it.
