Maybe I'm beating a dead horse now but yeah any begging for more episodes is more of a compliment than rudeness. That's why I made fun of the fact that we all are like "when's the next one?"
How much does all of that gear weigh? Watching you crawl out of the garbage truck with that front pack on reminded me of being 9 months pregnant again Being a clutz working my dogs in street clothes, I can't imagine how many times I'd fall over with all of that on!
That's not a pack, though it may look like it. It is all the pouches for ammunition, GPS, spare leashes, night vision goggles, all that stuff. The pouches are attached to my body armor. All together, my kit weighs in at about 50 pounds. I weigh 170, and with a full assault bag (back pack) and my weapon, I top the scales at 255 pounds. It's a lot harder to work a dog in your gear
After we started operating for real, a lot of that stuff went away. I stopped carrying an M4 Carbine and switched to an M9 pistol, which reduced some weight. I also added a drop leg pouch to carry my long line, an extra bowl, a thermometer, and some poop bags.
I love how the dude next to the truck keeps reaching out to help her ... and then thinking better of it
Smart man.
He actually backed off because I asked him to. Fama never liked having anyone else pick her up (his face was right there by hers), and it has always been important to me to be sure I could operate independently with my dog, because you never know who is going to be there to help. I was moving slowly there to keep from exciting Fama, and because I like to think it through before I climb into a garbage truck LOL. I actually tried to get her to recall, while she was still going up the ramp, but decided I didn't want her crashing back down, so I helped her out.
