Yet more anti-obsessing work...its getting easier gradually and he takes less time to accept chilling out and waiting nicely. I just heel him around the yard until he calms down, no looking allowed, no door oriented behavior allowed, no mouthing off. LOL I hurt my left shoulder so I have to use my right hand on the leash, awkward. But I am determined.
I have to walk him on my bike with the walky-dog at night. Sucks when you hurt your good side. Injuries and Dutchies don't mix.

Lot of short session on a crazy day.
Send around, heel, sit/down in motion, some fetch
a very nice straight track +/- 200' no bait and a pize at the end. Harley also track me to the paddock I went after I set the track the back to the barn.
Finished the evening doing some nosework in the barn. Harley go stuck on a over 6' high hay stack. The find was 3/4 up the stack has he jumped up to better indicate the lower bails fell off. He had to wait for me to reorganized the stack so I could safly release him to the reward.

Now that my summer has begun, I am taking Cody out every morning to walk him. Since he spent a week in the hospital he is afraid of men and beeping noises. He is doing well. Now he can walk along this one street and not be bothered with the beeping noises of backing up trash trucks. He is heeling nicely too. Still working on pivot. He is doing much better. Then I a take out Terra and then Bindi out for a walk.
Terra is working on heeling skills or I should say pre heeling skills. Wait is also another lesson we are perfecting. She has decided wait means, until she feels like it. So that is over. We are working on waiting before she does everything. She is doing good.
Bindi is doing very well. She is perfecting her rally skills. I need to buy some small cones so I can set out a rally course for her to practice.
The weather is very hot here. Today it was up in the 100's.

Awesome morning! Tracking and OB.
Finally a break from the ants and the rain. Went to the club's tracking field. Basic track after a few days off; three legs, two baited turns. First and second leg, 50m, random bait with one article in each. Third leg, no bait, 30m with an article every 10m. Great tracking, slow and methodical, solid indications on all articles with no handler help or handler errors. Grade= A.
Before tracking, we worked on a long-overdue brush-up of the touch pads. Also, "brrring", "hold it", and "drop it" with the tennis ball. Then some off-leash heeling position and waiting at the curb. We have practiced sitting and looking both ways before stepping off of curbs hundreds of times, but she still makes me command her at times. Stubborn dog!

yesterday, tracking about 200m no bait, horses being riden around, no problem.
Then show off some ob stuff in the evening with a send around from 20' (5th time doing that) and 3 cones.
Today day off leave for a horse show at 6:30 am, dog less as I am coaching with no helper

More tracking and curb behavior reinforcement.
Repeated same tracking pattern that we were so successful on yesterday, but it had rained again and the ants were back. The first two legs were very good, but after the second turn, she laid down to scratch the ants, and wasn't very enrhusiastic about continuing. I got her to resume tracking and indicating the articles on the last leg, but it was a half-hearted effort, except for solid indications on the articles. Grade= B, but only because of the ants.
Going to break for a couple of days while I try to find a new field. Next track may be a super-short track with only articles.

Short 30m track, one soft turn, three articles. Baited the scent pad, no bait on the track.
No ants and no problem.

I have a bunch of new clients and they all get a kick at seeing Harley do some ob work.
This morning I used 2 of them to practice the send around. It work just fine Even when I ask one to move a bit but not touch him.
Now it is super hot and humid and buggy so no tracking today, maybe some nosework late today after the lessons are done

I went over down doesn't mean roll on your back. Then we played tug and I teased him when I was done and put it away. I hope to keep building up his hot weather drive.
