until you seperate the breed from the Thugs, Rednecks and Riff Raff you're going to have problems. IMHO the thing that kept GSDs and simular breeds unappealing to lowlifes is the fact that the breeds were developed by , the elites/gentry/ruling class of Europe and were priced accordingly, add to that the strong clubs and government breeding programs. In Richmond you can get pits all day long for 50-100 apiece, A BYB GSD will go for at least 500 around here
Regent is known for being a prime hunting spot in ND for pheasant hunters and other sportsman. The town is full of old folks and German heritage and if anyone knows a person of German heritage, knows that they can be stubborn and set in their ways (I'm half German, lol).
It might be hopeless, but I think that if more people were openminded and got to read what I wrote, then it may be helpful to other people in other towns in ND, at least, to see that banning the breed is the wrong way, and that it's the human errors and idiocy that is the problem.
