Sure fire way to cause dog aggression, don't you think? I won't go near the place, but people will let their unleashed dogs approach mine and then correct them to the point of screaming and yelping if they come within feet of us. I can't even talk about this. I get too upset.
Peter,
How do YOU correct a dog off leash? Show me a video. I have 4 dogs currently. I leave the house everyday with a different dog, no leash or collars needed. Here's a 5 month old doing obedience, do you think it's the equivalent of "bashing a dog with a pipe"? He was trained with an ecollar http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2K-JGufWHYY
These are ignorant, cruel people Meredith, but I promise you, if you could see Erika come shooting like a bullet back to her daddy after a touch of the vibrate button, you would at least know they can ALSO be a positive tool. NO excuse for those folks however, none.

Yes.
Ignorant use of the e-collar has been a topic here not long ago here, with an anxious dog who was given "level 10" e-collar "correction" as his intro to an e-collar when he bit the hand of a child who he perceived as threatening his high-value food item (after overwhelming him with in-the-face petting, baby talk, and so on). It did the same thing. The dog had no association for this pain-from-the-sky except the child.

I love that clip, Al. I love how the others do their "distraction proofing" job so well.
