What does DINOS stand for?
What I hate is when an idiot tries to argue that my dog is in fact friendly. WTF? I look them in the eyes and "keep your dog away or I will"..."no he really isn't friendly and I know my dog better than you do"...etc. My dog thinks toy dogs are prey. Technically he is ok with polite females and very subordinate males. But please tell me why people think they're entitled to let their dog "greet" yours? And why, oh why do they think they're entitled to pet strange dogs? What is with this sense of entitlement that people have?

Oh yeah! Total DINOS over here too. I live in Miami so that means that in my neighborhood I encounter a lot of off leash, out of control, small dogs. Buck goes ballistic when these dogs run away from their owners and straight at us. He's 50 lbs and I'm just trying to keep him from the little prey animals nipping at our hills. What pisses me off the most though are the people who act like it's my fault that their off leash dog is making mine crazy. We're working on the crazy part, but it takes time and surprises like that do NOT help. I agree with Samantha when she said that human beings are the worst behaved in most of these occasions. I'm going to have to start walking Buck early, early morning or in the middle of the night! I just bet these are the same people that having screaming, destructive brats running all over Hellmart as well.

Looks like that breed specific ban Miami-Dade death grips onto and refuses to let go of is working out perfect. I guess they took a few rules out of the Terrier book when it comes to being stubborn, but would rather ignore the rest, like compassion and mercy. /sarcasm

I love the dog is friendly part... Mine is not!!!
Working on good behaviour but hard when stupid people come close and ask the dog to jump up for a huge. Ok mine will jump up but no huge more like bark at your face.
I can say over and over DON'T do that what if he does that to a small kid. I am getting very rude when I walk my dogs out in public work like a charm.
I have 2 DINOS

No DINOS here, but I am pretty sure Dieks would have qualified. We walked at odd hours to avoid any of those pesky owners, but when the others and I are out and about we have had the out of control toy dogs hot on our heels, the big dogs that drag their owners to us (and the owners let them!!) but my biggest peeve of all is the small children who get away from their parents and go after my dogs. Outside Petsmart doing distraction training, a 2 yr old little girl broke away from mom and sprinted across the parking lot to give Haz a big hug. Knowing he does enjoy hugs from children and that he would just turn to mush, I put him in a sit. Mom comes over while daughter is now sitting on the ground with Haz in her lap and asks "is he friendly?" duh. She got a piece of my mind. Watched the girl chase down and try to hug 3 more dogs inside the store. She had dogs and owners running in all different dirrections trying to get away, even after I told the mom how lucky she was to have her daughters face still intact.

You know it girl! The pound is full of pit mixes and pit that are back yard bred as American bulldogs. Those are probably next on the list. A dog that was constantly off the leash in this neighborhood was hit by a car the other day. I haven't heard whether the guy decided to take the dog to the vet yet or not. Can you believe that?!?! I wanted to march over and start ripping into him about being a dumbass, but my DH put the kabosh on that. I could call Animal Control, but they can't do squat because I'm sure the guy got rid of the dog as I haven't seen it or heard it all week. Right now, I'm just waiting for that asshole to slip up with his other dog.

Oh my god! I'm not a perfect mother. Who is? Letting her toddler run in a parking lot is really unsafe, but letting her approach an unknown dog is just stupid. That lady really is lucky! I think the only reason stupid keeps on being bred is because of the technology our society has. I'm am always trying to drill it into my boys heads about safety issues in public. I'm a little over protective, but if it keeps them safe and I can get them to think before acting then it's worth it! *jumping off my soapbox now*

There are 3 DINOS here by the names of TRigger, Nitro, and Hobbes. Pongo and Balto are MDIF's which is why they are the ones my 9yro daughter is allowed to walk. However, I'm tired of having to tell people that my dogs espeically Trigger, don't want to meet strange dogs but would rather be left alone. I've finally told a couple of people that if they wouldn't control their little dogs, mine were going to turn them into snacks or treat them like squeaky toys. I keep my dogs leashed at all times and just want to be able to walk around the neighborhood without being on guard all the time.

There was this lady recently who was just really stupid. I was walking and saw her walking towards us so I moved WAY over to pass by her. I had no idea that she didn't get the stay-away message and she suddenly turned in front of us and I had to halt suddenly to avoid my dog coming into contact with her. I should have let him because all he would do is stiff and piss on her (but he might correct her for touching him). Anyway what she said ignoring my irritation was "Oh he's ok" and reached her hand out. I said "no he's not ok, that's why I tried to stay away from you" Stupid stupid stupid. Why do people think they are so frikkin entitled to everything?
