Yep- it's all about those chips! Kinda of like the "school tuna sandwiches" were only good when stuffed with the contents from the little bag of chips.
Total ditto.
Crunchy salt sandwich. LOL

"I love tuna noodle casserole. Are you sure you're putting enough crushed potato chips on top?"
Yep, chips galore on top! My kids just don't recognize tuna as a food when it's warm I love it, but it seems that is the one thing they refuse to eat. Do you put peas in yours? I love peas in mine. Maybe that is the evil ingredient

If I'm making the cold tuna and macaroni salad (you know, the kind with the mayo-based dressing), then, yes, plenty of peas! But no peas in my oven-baked tuna noodle casserole. Weird, I know, but I'm the only one in the family who likes either one very much, anyway. Oh, and no potato chips on top, but plenty of toasty bread crumbs.

Leftovers...oh heck, we've had many nights where they eat with.
Sure, their meat doesn't get cooked but it often comes from the same fresh, supermarket family pack we're having for dinner. I cut the meaty t-bone out of the steaks before it hits the pan for a stir fry, the bony pork chop ends get severed before they're doused with mushroom sauce or often it's just 2 for us and 3 for them. Their bowls also get some of the same veggies we're having.
It's just hubby and I on the human side but we very much have a current family of five and meal portions are often purchased with that in mind. Some days it feels like we're the ones getting the leftovers, if there are any.

I do use peas in mine, and I too have switched to toasty whole-grain Panko or home-made big crumbs (and velouté sauce instead of cream soup). But I sure wouldn't turn down a plate of the kind with potato chips and cream soup!

Logan loves plain yogurt or sour cream stuck in the container. He also gets collards, steak fat (not mine!), soup from scratch, peas (they must be mashed or he won't eat them), deviled eggs, cheese...etc.
A tired dog is a good dog, a trained dog is a better dog. |

Don't forget "holiday pancreatitis," which is so named because it's acute pancreatitis that peaks at Thanksgiving and the winter holidays and is usually the result of a sudden large amount of cooked fat or fatty foods (gravy, fat trimmed off cooked roasts, congealed fat on pans and plates, dumpster-diving, etc.).

My dogs' favorite "left-over" is the peanut butter jar after I can't scrape any more out. It is more fun than a kong for them and will keep them entertained for hours. They throw it down the hallway, walk around with it glued to their noses, fling it into the air and lick on it forever. Not sure which one of us it entertains more some days

Oh, my dogs just love peanut butter! I never thought about maybe allowing the empty plastic jar!
I'll have to feel around the top of the one I buy and see if it's smooth. I'm laughing already, though, thinking of having three of them saved up in the fridge and then handing them out as an evening's entertainment. LOL
