I'll apologize up front for being a bad boy but a few yrs back I had a high level AKC competion trainer that was watching us train our dogs. She kept insisting that were were going nowhere in teaching our no correction methods to our Schutzhund dogs.
Knowing my very clear headed dog would do no harm (without damn good reason) I told her to show me how to do a stand from a sit with my dog Thunder.
She stepped in to his sitting position and with her outside foot Reached back and gave a little CM touch with her foot when she said "Stand".
Thunder didn't budge an inch from his sit (cause I put him in it) but gave her a little rumble and a look that said "F off lady"!
She quit complaining about our methods.....and hasn't talked to me since.
I feel sooo bad about that..........Maybe not.
This is common, people feel the need to defend themselves whether or not they are being attacked....that's why its imperative to give advise without judgement regardless of their reactions. Their defense does no harm to you, its just a reaction...many times they get past the reaction and learn. As for the ones that don't simply don't waist time with them.

Some ppl ask for advice, only to discount the advice they are given. That could be the possible reason for losing patience with someone who is asking for guidance; they have to truly want to be led.
A tired dog is a good dog, a trained dog is a better dog.

As we know so well here, sometimes they are strictly shopping for back-up; they want reinforcement and nothing else.

Yep, they either one of two things:
1. (usually) They *think* they know what the trouble is and they have to be right, they want to be praised reassured for being right only
or 2. (rare) They already know the problem but want reassurance on how to handle it.
A tired dog is a good dog, a trained dog is a better dog.
