They said he should start to be noticeably better by Monday....so far so good I guess.
I have had to hand feed him, he won't eat it from the bowl. He didn't want to eat all of his supper tonight. I gave him a good dose of ginger in case he is nauseous. They didn't give me any anti-puke pills and after being there for so long I didn't think to ask about it when we left. Ginger works for me when I get sick so, hopefully for him too.

Don't forget the signs of NSAID side effects (GI and ulcer). Not to frighten you ... just to remind you ... that one of the more immediate side effects of Rimadyl (and all of the NSAIDs) is bleeding ulcer.
Decrease in appetite is usually the #1 sign to report.
Hey guess what! This morning he trotting out into the yard and grabbed a stuffed toy in his mouth and carried it around. And he ate his breakfast all by himself standing up and everything...now he is looking for more!

I've switched him to chicken and potatoes (he doesn't like the texture of rice). Its rather time consuming, so I am thinking about going to the pet store and buying some high quality canned food for him, for the next too weeks. I'll eventually just give the special stuff to be sure he gets his meds down with food. Any suggestions? I gave him Merrick during a hurricane and he loved it...but it has lots of ingredients.

Quick question ..... why limited ingredients? Was there already a diarrhea issue or something?
I think that Dogswell is a 5-star canned food with a better price than many. (I am not saying that every single thing in the Dogswell line is 5-star; I'm talking about the canned food. Very few companies have a 100%-great-total-line.)
Well, limited because I'm just thinking if he's on antibiotics, don't want to give anything too complicated because they may be bothering him a little. He hasn't vomited but after he takes the meds he doesn't want any more food. And I don't mean he's full...he wanted more and after I made it, he didn't want it. He hasn't vomited or anything though. I am keeping an eye on him because he's on carprofen as well. But he may *just* be sick.

Tresa, I'm just getting caught up on this thread. I'm sorry to hear about the turn for the worse that Logan took, but I'm glad to hear he's doing better today. What you went through sounds very scary. Fingers crossed and sending good wishes your way. Hope your boy is back to himself very soon!
