Thanks Connie. I am trying to get my moves down pat so I do not mess my pups up.
Thans, I will work on it in my room with a full wall closet mirror.

Today I worked Cody and Bindi. Bindi in the morning and evening= heeling forward, and backward. (she likes the backing up) Still have to work her along a fence or wall to keep her straight in her backing. Recall, and a game of running to the mark and the mat back and forth on command. Worked on recall where I tell her to stop in the middle or along her line of return. Hand signals on wait, down, sit, stand. She did well. Worked on pivot on square little board. She did very well. Brushed her in the stand position,
Cody- morning-just walked in new location. Evening- he wanted to work, so we worked on "go touch" runs and touches, punches a large ball with his nose. Close it, the coat closet door. Spin, heel, go to heel position, recall, through-jump thru hula hoop. Run back and forth from mark to mat on command. Sit, down, wait, mark-pivot. By the way Cody is doing outstanding on the pivot!
I am going to practice (when the dogs go to bed) my turns 90 degree. Morning will work on hand out of treat pouch help. Oh, both dogs worked on "wait".
I think that is it. Was 100 degrees today. Starting to cool down.
Loved all your input on training your dogs.

Folks who post on this thread and include a specific training question might want to also open a thread for that question.
I got a PM last night mentioning this, and how a thread with the subject of the question will get direct responses from those who can answer it faster than a thread like this one might, because different people might read the threads.
So don't hesitate to chronicle here and also ask specific questions in separate new threads.
And to the PMer, thank you! Good point!

Connie thanks!
Jax (foster) had his neuter surgery today, so he got no training today.
That also means Mandy (wife) let me take Bella with me for the first time ever. Bella is a mommas girl. So this was my first training session with her. We did a perimeter in the front office. She got it withing 10 minutes! Then we did some heeling, and sit/down stays during the busier part of the day. She was very environmentally unsound when we first got her, so doing basic obedience in a crowded gym was pretty impressive, to me.
Milo and Mabel, both did the same work on "off leash" (w/long line) obedience. Heel, sit, down, stay, and come, all during a very busy, packed time at the gym.
All and all, pretty good day.

Jax still in recovery, so I had Bella, Mabel, and Milo, again.
We did a round in the morning of tug. Well, Bella and Milo did tug.... Mabel looked at me like I was stupid. I tried my ass off to get her interested, but she was not having it. So, rather than put her up, we did some agility, and she ROCKED it. I know she has a ton of prey drive, and game. Hell, that's her problem in the pack. She has a ton of drive, predatory drift galore. she'll work a spring pole, but I cannot for the life of me get her interested in a damn tug. So frustrating. I know if I can get her hooked, it will be a great way for her to vent some of that drive, as well as making me the source of that kind of intense play instead of always using the other dogs for that.
Well that was Mabel.
Bella- This was my first time playing tug with her. It's usually Amanda. She was super into it. Outs great. And totally pushes it back to you when you let go. Her only problem is she's kind of chewy. Not sure if that's the right word, but half the time she mouths it but doesn't hold on. Other half CLAMPS. Not clear why, but other than that she did good.
Milo- was a superstar! He even did a few bring backs. I put the ME tug video back in after Connie reminded me of it, and watched the part dealing with that. I let go and backed up encouraging the bring. Not far, but it worked. Then gradually farther out. Ended up taking a few steps and he would follow and bring! AWESOME!
Later, they all held a down for about 30 minutes outside a crowded starbucks.
Then their regular Academy afternoon.
For Bella that was hard. That's a rough environment for a dog that's not raised in it. People wrestling, hitting pads, music playing, weights getting slammed around. They all held a down for around 45 minutes during a sparring class! That's old hat for Mabel and Milo, but for Bella.... That's super hard.
Good day over all.

Today I worked with three of my dogs:
Bindi- we worked on heel, hand signals for down, sit and stand at a distance. Wait command, heeling when I step backwards. She did very well.
Cody-Working on fear. Today he did well walking. He saw a lady running, that didn't bother him too much. From a distance he saw a man walking, that worried him. We treated every time a fear came along. Really going to focus on his fear of men. It really hinders him. Took him to the vet yesterday, so he could just sit there and have the other dogs and people around him. He did well. A man came in and that made him bark, but he quieted down. He heels wonderfully, sits and downs, and is doing great on the pivot.
Every morning he brings me all the dogs breakfast dishes, and when the cupboards are left open, his chore is to close them. which he does really well. In the evenings we have the dogs take turns staying up late with us, and he likes to play ball.
Terra- a very, very smart dog. Doing well. Worked on the heel position. She tried hard and did good. She is very friendly and doesn't have many fears except when someone comes toward her with something in their hand.
All are dong well. Will love it when I can take cody to dog training class. Right now the fear of men overwhelms him. Terra will do well too if we can get her into class too. And the Bindi girl is doing great in training class. Looking forward to getting her training in Rally O, and I look forward to being trained too.
So, today a good day. It was blazing hot. By 10:00 it was 90 degrees. So we didn't do much. It is supposed to get down to 76 tonight.

It is hot and humid here. So we don't do much. And Dexter cut one of is pad so bandage and muzle for him.
I work on Harley acceptance of our new Dremel. I had a cordless nail tool but it did not have the power for my dogs hard nails. The new Dremel is bigger, and make a different sound and has a cord. Harley who does not really enjoy the pedicure in general was not impress by the new tool.
