You're probably right that it was a drive-by plug for another site. When that happens, and a moderator suspects it, I'd suggest simply locking the thread and sending the newbie offender a PM. As it stands, this thread is a perpetual embarrassment that will turn up whenever somebody Googles "Shiloh Shepherds" from now till the end of time.
How about the next new member that introduces herself and her Labradoodle puppy? Do we have remarks prepared?
I *get* that this forum has a working dog bias. I knew that coming in. I'm reminded of it often. But that was the reason for my questions earlier in the thread about what this forum is and isn't.
Nobody wants to stumble into a private club where they aren't welcome. It's awkward for everyone. If this really is supposed to be a place where all dogs (and intelligent owners willing to listen and learn) are welcome, then these wholesale comments about entire breeds and types of dogs aren't helpful.
No, a Shiloh Shepherd isn't a working line GSD. They also aren't a Whippet. Aren't there enough breeds, crosses, and varieties out there that everyone can find just the dog that makes them happy--and allow that somebody else might choose something else? Very last dog on my list of breeds? Pug. But I don't think less of Connie for owning them.

The OP was an undisguised ad for a Shiloh forum/breeder, no introductions or even a Hello, which was pretty rude.

This forum might have had a working dog bias at some point but not anymore. How many of the new threads discuss training a working or sport dog? What percentage of the new threads discuss training dogs? Any training at all?

You are 100% correct.

I read a few posts that looked like questions could be answered by going to the shiloh shepherd website....
