I agree, the family in this thread did everything they could to help the dog, and when they weren't able to go forward any longer, they found a very good alternative and did everything in their power to do right by the dog. I wish more people would make the time to do the same.
I was trying to respond to John Axe's statement earlier about some dogs just being "bad". I don't think a dog can be "bad" in the same sense as a person, having malicious or evil intent to their actions. They are what their genes and training make them, nothing more or less. And yes, some dogs can be wired "wrong", but that is a physiological or neurological deficiency, not a deliberate moral or immoral action.
