I don't have allergies but if I'm dieting or don't like something, that's what I tell people.
Cheese makes me break out in fat, tomatoes make my toes curl.
I do have a strange reaction to monosodium glutamate. I puff up almost instantly; get an incessant thirst and my nose starts to run. I avoid that stuff at all costs.
Anne's got a crazy good recipe for Pecan, Pumpkin Biscotti. No dairy in there but there is some brown sugar.
That recipe does sound good Katie. Always looking for better alternatives.
How did you find out it was lactose? You have no problem with the no-lactose milk?
I'm suspecting dairy, but maybe more than just lactose ....
Yeah every time I drank regular milk it caused gas and bloating...sometimes diarrhea if I drank a lot. I quit drinking it for a long time...small amounts of dairy don't bother me too bad, the casein (a protein) is another problem I think. I tried lactose free milk one day and I was able to tolerate it. However, I probably have a dairy allergy because it makes me feel tired and weighted down after drinking it....just no GI symptoms.
I react that way to a lot of foods, I'll fell like there is a rock in my stomach. But Connie, you have got to read that book...it explains why and what to do about it. This goes for everyone, very enlightening! The Metabolic Typing Diet

I drink non fat colored water milk not because of intolerance but because I can't stand even the 2%, to thick and forget about D that's like syrup to me.
I can eat pretty much any thing I just don't out of discipline from my racing days I guess. The worst things I eat are Tim's jalapeno chips, Monster Khaos and chips Ahoy w/Reese's PB cup, the flip side to that is juicing at least twice a day my favorite is carrots, Fuji apples and celery.
The funny thing is the cookies didn't come in until I quit drinking beer, no alcohol for 4.5 years, not sure why I stopped.
