I missed the reason for them doing an ampu-Tail-ation on Fema after her retirement -- Was that due to some injury? ... This whole thing is so FUBAR !!!
That's not my Fama either. Mine is missing her right canine tooth as well.
Her tail was amputated because she kept busting it open spinning in her crate. I was careful to stop her, and avoid situations where she would spin, but the soldier who had her after me in class let her bust herself up.
Her tooth is missing because she broke it in a transient kennel in Spain I had to leave her in for a couple hours. It was by a busy parking lot, and I really had no choice. I got in some trouble for demanding that she stay with me. The officer in charge didn't like that too well. I made him take us to the vet when I got back and found her tooth broken.
That's cool. I'm sure it was an honest mistake. They probably found them and thought they were of their dog. Though Fama is uncommon in the US, it's a normal dog name in Holland. There are lots of Famas out there.
Pictures that were posted that were believed to be previous service days of MWD Fama H176 have been removed at the request of David Winners. David Winners was believed to be a handler of Fama's. The handler is stating that his Fama, respectively, shown in the pictures with the Soldier is not Fama H176, but a different Fama. At this time, we must respect the request as we have no other documentation on Fama H176, other than the medical records provided upon adoption. Thank you.
She's probably some sweet old lady who was thrilled to death when she thought she saw her Fama in some pictures from her time in the military.
Y'all be on the lookout for a FB profile of NQWD Sadie, Ambassador of GSDs to Toy Dogs, Cats, Rodents, and Dragonflies (and practically anything else she can catch, except a ball, tug, or sleeve). As soon as I can find some pix of a Sable doing anything, the page will be up and running...
Identity thieves suck a bag of... well, nevermind.

That sounds right.
And if I'm following right .... this means your Fama may not have been adopted out?
No, I believe David's Fama was adopted out. This lady has another Fama who was adopted three years ago. It sounds like David is in the process of tracking down his Fama and dealing wiht a lot of question marks and red tape.
