More finishing work at the ballpark. Sadie is much more fun now that her heat cycle has ended.
She was better in the routine and got all of the exercises right the first time. Her focus was a little better, though still not flawless, and she's still a little slow with the down but she didn't overrun me on the changes of pace, like she did yesterday.
After OB, I tied her to the fence near one of the diamonds where some girls were practicing. I didn't want to distract them, so I didn't get too close. I downed Sadie and walked around a corner. She waited for me to return and never broke position.
When we left the ballpark we went to Petco to pick up treats for training. She was a perfect little lady. She didn't even get worked up when we had to pass some adopt-a-kitties and I let her sniff the cage.

That sounds like a great time. Didn't get to work with my dogs today except giving Bindi a bath. Still not well. Bindi went out and of course being a terrier she had to dig for gophers. She was very dirty. I am very grateful for marker training because it helped me train Bindi to go into the shower when I tell her its time for her bath. I was adjusting the water and I looked down and she was sitting in the bottom of the shower, waiting like a good girl. Tomorrow morning going to the other trainer, they want to see what bindi can do, I am a little nervous, will be fine once I get there.
She is a great dog and has learned a lot. I am not working on duration and distractions getting a little more intense. Tomorrow will go through the paces with her before we leave for Nuevo. I have some great high value treats, left over steak and sausage. Yummmm!

Did more 2x2 weave with Harley and it is starting to really look like what it should. Then work on rear cross around a cone and on send out around the cone.
Dexter was in the mood so we did some pretty nice ob, he even gave me some focus. He did fetch the ball once but not with great joy.
We also went for a 1hr long run in the wood with some random recall. All very good. Harley made me fall as he grab the tug at full speed and I did not let go soon enough so I went flying.
Now Dexter is hiding in his crate with please no more for today and Harley is looking at me with a what's next expression.

Very bad morning. All was perfect untill Harley out the tug but jump right after it and got my arm.
I screamed, yelled OUT, NO but he was pulling harder and harder.I just kick him not very proud of that but he did let go of me and yelp. He was unsure for a few minutes but came back to full drive. He may have been a bit softer on the tug.
He is normally very good about giveing the tug back but Dexter made a sound of some sort. Don't know if that was the trigger. I often play tug with the 2 of them taking turn, when their name is called.
My jack looks bad, my arm is sore and numb but no poncture.
He now won't leave me for some reason. I fell bad and he is sucking up to me.

Ariane, I hope that mends quickly. Chalk another one up to living with a high-drive working dog.
I went outside during my break to walk my BH routine. Got some pretty strange looks from the break area as I walked and commanded my imaginary dog. I bet the changes-of-pace were pretty hilarious.

I am beginning to concentrate on CGC for Cody and Terra. They know basic obedience, but I am taking my list and working on it so they can take the test and get their certificate. Sitting politely for petting, accepting a friendly stranger, walking on loose lead, walking through a crowd, sit and down on command (they know this) and the wait which they know but need to perfect with duration and distractions. reaction to other dogs. Cody and Terra are both ok in this area. Working on cody's "place" command. And working on his fears. He is doing well as we go to petsmart, and walk around the shopping center (one side) that he used to hate (never found out why) and would try and hide under the car when we went. Now he is getting the idea that when we go out he can explore, enjoy people. Men still cause him to pause a bit.
Bindi- working on longer waits with downs and sits. Going to go over the basics with more duration, distractions. And the turns. Getting ready for going to rally training soon. WIll continue to teach her to "scratch" (the ground) on command. Working on her front to be straight. Thinking of using the touch command on a piece of paper and transfering the paper to where she needs to go for a straight front. Having her touch it, then phase is out after she knows it. Something like is done for agility contact points.
For all of them I am going to start having them lay down by the dinner table and wait until we are done eating. This will help them with duration. Did it tonight, they did pretty well.
Well feeling better will get back to the training tonight , tomorrow Bindi goes to school.
Sorry to hear about the bite to the arm. Hope you will recover soon. I am sure it will be sore for awhile.
Great weather here, I am excited about that, can train at any time of the day now!!

Agility day.
Running contacts are so much better then 2 on 2 off. Finally Harley did the teether like a normal dog, so he did not jump to the end contact and scatred the heck out of the other dogs.
My crosses were good, I stayed on my feet.
We are starting to work on discrimination, well the Aframe is a bit of a Harley magnet.I had to sit down a work on that on my own for a bit. We had a new instructor and she was so offended when she heard me say NO when Harley went for the wrong obtacle. The other coach told her to chill and that my dog coudl take a correction or 2.
She also wanted a restrain start, not from a sit. Now that was worth watching. If I don't say sit, Harley just goes as I piont the jump. Well he take off with her still hanging on his collar. She did a nice face plant. The other coach, did tel her that with a very fast a motivated dog that was not the smartess thing to do especially that he may now break the start line. Did not.

Doing nosework today he started this new thing barking as soon as his catches scent of the article, he did it 3x in a row. He doesn't try to find it or show me like he has done a thousand times. I think maybe because when I hid them, I had him backtied and he got too excited....but then I have backtied him before like that (so he can't watch me hide them). He just air scented and obviously was on it and started barking but never showed me the exact location. I hated to show it to him but I made him stop and show me and sit. I couldn't reward the barking thing...maybe I should have just ended the session when he did that. Hmmm.

I just got the Michael Ellis advanced concepts in motivation so been working on that last couple days, dogs are much better hitting the tug harder and fighting harder but realised how much I suck after being bit a few times lol, REALLY need to work more on presentations it's all my fault their targeting's pretty good when I do it properly!
