You advertise on your web site that you specialize in personal protection training. What kind of titles have you done with your dogs? With your clients' dogs? Where did you get your training for personal protection?
Don't say NK9, think fast, even if you have to make something up, don't say NK9, don't say NK9.....
I dont think there is an article on Dog Daycare, but I'm sure the above link can be applied to it without too much use of the imagination.
I am not a Leerburg groupie just throwing Leerburg links at everything people say It's not a bias push of Leerburg training philosophy, but good information is good information. Perhaps you will understand a little more of the training concepts that people follow here.
There's a "certified dog trainer" (emphasis on the quotes) in Florida that does protection training, and wears a tuxedo in the pictures on his website. Do you wear a tuxedo too, Michael?
listen up mike, a day care is not a dog park, no leashes, just fun, all dogs are evaluated and supervised, on an average day we have up 20 or more dogs running around having fun. and yes i tell people dog parks arnt the best, dogs act diffrently on leash than they do off. if you dont have a recall your dog should not be off leash. there is no pointing fingers if something happens, all the dogs here get along fine, in the four plus years we had to turn away 4 dogs, not bad. agression and you dont have to be a smart ars.
If it wasn't for the fact that I am going out, I would sit here and debate the point with you all night. But seeing how this is your business and you are unlikely to concede the point as it is your bread and butter, it's pretty pointless anyway. Perhaps learning about dogs before starting the business would be a more effective approach. Too late now I suppose, your mind is made up.
There's generally a nice blend of people on this forum that are pet people, competition people, police, protection, all different things. Most any question can get answered and there are civil, enjoyable conversations. Right now your sparring with us pups but if you start with poor advice ESPECIALLY about protection the big dogs are going to come out. Will is very diplomatic as a mod but I'm sure he has his limmits. If you really want to enjoy this forum stop posting with such a chip on your shoulder.
take it easy alyssa, when we train protection all dogs have to go thru basic on leash and off leash obediance, have to be social with dogs and people especially children. dog is evaluated then trained , regardless of what you may think i know what im dong. im still learning been at it 7 years not saying im an expert . how many dogs, not your own, have you trained
