Ah! An post above mentioned 4 1/4c meals. But 2 cups of wet food still isn't a whole lot for a GSD sized dog so an extra 1/2c meal at bedtime should be fine. Pretty sure Connie's advice was to continue on with the rice/chicken combo in light of the gooey poop - plain chicken was only for constipation (at leaset that was my understanding but I'm sure Connie will come clarify!) FWIW, a small amount of food (and I'd consider 2 c/day of wet food a small amount for a GSD - That's the amount I would aim for with my 35-40# Border Collies) will also cause the small hard, stools since there isn't a lot moving through the digestive tract. So an extra 1/2 c of food could help with that.

Agreed, and if you see small hard poops (or softening/unformed), please post back right away and describe so the diet can be adjusted right away.
Yes, I was saying that I's give a no-rice meal in the event that she had continued with hard poops, but then she had diarrhea.
Update: Mojo hasnt gotten sick in eight days. Last time she pooped was on Saturday, the diarrhea. She did not poop yesterday or today so far.
She usually poops on our walk in the AM. I am getting to ready to feed her one of her small meals (2nd one) No rice this time. Maybe thats whats causing the lack of poop???? She was chomping and licking her lips. Nausea, but that happens every time we walk.
???
Also is there something i can do to help her poop???

Right ..... back off on the rice because it's probably causing the constipation.
Give her plenty of water, the all-chicken snack-meal, and a bit of a good oil like olive oil or coconut oil on top (try a teaspoon).
Post back before the next snack-meal and tell us the result.
You're walking a fine line because of the diarrhea she had Saturday, so these are gentle steps. OTOH, you don't want her to form hard difficult-to-pass poops, so post back.

P.S. Bland doesn't have to be rice; dogs on a bland easy-to-digest diet who are reacting to rice with hard poops can have another carb swapped in, such as boiled potato.
7:35 PM. Took her for an after noon walk around 5 AP. Before her 3rd snack of chicken only . No poop but will be going for another short walk in a bit. I sent my notes/journal to my vet today. I was not able to talk with her directly, she called back and mentioned anti inflamatories and the scope thing again. But that's about it. I will call her in AM. MOJO just doesn't seem right. Hope she Poops tonight.
