She did not mention Cancer??? Why??? Is
That what Anti inflammatory is for??What should I do. ? ??? Anti inflammatory?? Scope $$$
Thoughts??
These are questions for the vet. It's not at all that I don't want to answer .... not at all .... I am just not qualified. I have no idea what the vet's tentative diagnosis or findings are.
When I worked in a country veterinary practice, we often would prescribe steroid+antibiotic+/- diet change or other anti-inflammatory shotgun therapies to treat symptoms. But we had a $100.
diagnostic work up to go on, we couldn't figure out the problem, we were guessing. Lots of times we got lucky and the dog got better, but sometimes not. Usually, after the Rx that I describe, and some time, symptoms would change--the disease would "declare itself", become obvious, then we'd go from there.
You have spent a fortune in diagnostics. They owe you answers to certain questions. Does my dog have major organ failure? (Heart, kidney) Does my dog look to you like a dog who might have cancer? What are you thinking is wrong with my dog? What have your tests ruled out is NOT wrong with my dog?
Tests are done for a reason. What have the tests shown so far?
If your vet can't provide answers to these questions, I'd have them gather their data to date, make up a good history, and go elsewhere. Sometimes nobody can figure it out. But it doesn't seem to me that they have been providing you with many answers up to this point.
Cathy yes it was gooey. like a raw egg consistency.
Tuesday she finally pooped. I had talked with my vet about her throwing up the bile the other nite. The vet set to feed her a little more and suggested getting back on Rx food. So I Fed her the Rx kibble this morning.
We went for a walk and came back she seemed great. Played and seemed good. Got home and she drank water and immediately got sick. Threw up everythhing. Her poop this morning was really good though. Is there any correlation with the water and food. Is it this Rx food? After talking with vet yesterday we did go over the procedures that have been done. She is recommending a internal medicine specialist also. Since she can not pin point the issue.
Per the vet, Mojo has no major organ failures not that she can tell as far as lab work, liver, kidney and heart seem normal. Ultrasound was for abdomane and looking at organs. Bloodwork also looking at organs via chemistry. Cant find any thing. She thinks it is the IBD but could be something she cant see. Thats why she recommends the scope or a specialist.
Muscousy poop can be an indicator of an infection but I don't think that normally causes all the vomiting she has. Sometimes an antibiotic trial can resolve mystery gut stuff but as upset as her stomach is right now I don't know if it would be the thing to do.
Could she give any specific reasoning to give that Rx food other than it being a Rx food? It really is not the most sensitive gut-friendly.
we switched to the Rx food because she has had an on going issue with diarreah. Off and on for
Years. So took her to a new vet and they suggested a different food.
I meant as opposed to a bland easily digestible diet like chicken while you get it under control. At least with bile you know she's digesting her food.
My boy will puke if he drinks cold water or eats ice immediately after exercise. He will also gulp it when his stomach is bothering him. Room temp water he does fine with and I call him away from the water dish if I think he's getting too much at once.
