WHat would be better for an 8 week old puppy? and also when you crate train how long can you excersise your dog? The older they get, the more control they have over their "fuctions" and the less this occurs. I believe that Robert was saying IF you have to leave a very young pup alone all day, an outside kennel run is the better option because it gives the puppy a place to relieve himself, which will be inevitable. A crate does not.

All mine are crated or loose in house when old enough to know how to behave. MJK
