My wife and I are spending this weekend in St. Louis, and instead of kenneling the dog here for three days straight, we thought we'd take him along and kennel him each day up there. Does anyone know of a reputable kennel in the area that's good for working dogs? We'll be in the CWE, but I don't mind driving out to west county, St. Charles, etc.
I'm from Columbia and my fiance's parents are from St. Charles. I'll see if he or they has an opinion. If you want to drop the dog off in Columbia, I'm sure my 3 will enjoy a play date. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

You are trying to kennel your dog on short notice in St Louis for memorial day weekend? Good luck. The kennel I work for in St Louis has been booked up for this weekend for the past 3 weeks. I think you are going to have to take whats available, and I doubt it will be much. "The Dog House" (636) 677 3131 out in High Ridge is good with working dogs, but it would surpise me if they had availability for this weekend.
Thanks Maren and Jason - several people recommended Country Acres in Manchester. They're convenient to where we'll be, it looks like they've got great facilities, and they sounded knowledgeable on the phone. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

I guess I was lucky. The Dog House would certainly be familiar with working dogs - it's a little far from where we'll be, so maybe next time.
Just as a follow up, we were very pleased with Country Acres. They had no problems dealing with an active dog, took him for a long walk along horse trails in the neighboring park, played with him, and gave us a detailed report of what they did and how he acted.
