This is an ad I found on a local board for sale and free items. Kinda scary ....
Mandy is very affectionate, loves to cuddle, loves to play, and sits, stays and all that very well. I love her. Unfortunatley, is very protective and defensive when on a leash. She seems to be dog aggressive. When she sees kids she gets real exited and I can't see if she wants to run up and say hi and play or attack them. I had a baby kitten that I raised with her help, she licked and cleaned it, slept with it, played with it and loved it like it was her baby. Then the other day while I was at work she killed it apparently over her bone. I came home to a dead cat and an ashamed dog. Now on the other hand I used to live with a friend who had a pi bull her same age, she wanted to kill the other dog when she first met it but then after a couple days they were best friends. She is very swet and calm when in the house with just me and people she knows. She has to be right there next to you, in your lap or laying next to you.
I have come to realize that I just cannot trust her with other animals, kids, strangers, etc. I live in an aprtment and have to walk her out in the public everyday to go to the bathroom and if someone walks close or startles her she gets protective. I just canot keep her. I love her very much and don't want to se her to get put down. She in the right situation could make someone a great dog. Maybe someone in the country or just someone who has a house with a nice fenced in yard that doesn't have any kids. I don't know but I'm hoping there is someone out there that can love her. She is a beautful dog.
She is about one year and 3 months old. She has her rabies tag and all that. She is very healthy, hasn't been fixed yet by I would recommend it.
So if you would like to give her a good home where there are no worries of her hurting anything then please send me an email.
I have a guess on what they should do about this dog....but PETA wouldn't like it....
I don't think there's anything wrong with the dog. Now the owner on the other hand... <img src="http://www.leerburg.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />
Dog needs a new owner who is well versed on dog behavior and pack dynamics, and with a full complement of brain cells.
That just cracked me up... I don't think it's the dog's fault.. it's all how the dog was raised and trained. They learn from their owners right? Obviously this person didn't know what they were getting into? Eitherway I hope someone steps in and helps out this poor pup. She (the dog) obviously needs some major TLC and a stern set of boundries.
Isn't that always the story? The dog would make "somebody" a great dog. Just not the bonehead that has it. Why do these people get dogs in the first place???? The saddest part is, they'll re-home this dog at best, dump her somewhere at worst and then 2 or 3 months from now they'll do it all over again!!!
I was on a breed rescue website once. Someone posted an article in a newspaper about a shelter that featured a story on their particular breed of dog. The story went like this: Five dogs had paperwork showing that they had been euthanized, and a week later it was discovered that they were in fact, alive and still in their kennels. The previous owner of two of those "second chance" was contacted for comment. Her reaction was that "she was in tears to know that her babies were still alive". She turned them in because she had 5 dogs and couldn't afford them all. BUT get this: she said she couldn't take back those two dogs "even though she loved them" because she had already gotten a new puppy!! I just don't get it. I wish I had the link to the story, but I've lost it.
