Dobermans have been a cropped breed since even before their type was fixed. But now I'm repeating myself My opinion on this whole issue boils down to nothing more than this: Ear-cropping is not abuse. That's it; my whole opinion. BTW, I don't have a GSD or a Mal, but I do have Dobes (docked tail)and Greyhounds (LONG tail) and I'm impressed by the grace and coordination of both breeds
I know, probably the shortest "speech" I've made. But for all my long-winded diatribe; that is basicly my opinion. I love Shakespear...

I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

I will never understand the phrase "I like dogs more than people". A man invented everthing that spoils me, and my dog.Unfortunately a dog is not capable of making choices. If a breed excists it is in most cases to fill a job. Usually ones that the specific dogs loves, and one that in many cases a person physically could not do. A dog is much like a human infant that will never grow up. it depends on an adult to nucher it and make choices for it. the Doberman is a noble breed. When my dog goes out, he gets told constantly what a handsome boy he is. This attention does not go unnoticed by him. I honestly believe the positive energy he gets from people is good for him. My mother had to make simular choices when I was a baby.I might add that that I am happy she did.
