I cannot post the pics of this Dobe, but the pics I received are of a WHITE Dobe!!! If a moderator is looking at this, sure would be nice if I could post pics of this Dobe, but i guess if you've seen one white Dobe, you've seen them all. I left out this lady's number and e-mail for CYA purposes. I got this from Annie's breeder (who knew?). Even as a novice, I know that Dobermans are not and never should be white!!!
"Dear Mrs. Gardner;
My name is Holly Hall.My husband and I have in our posession a registered female doberman pinscher.We are looking for a stud.
And never and never and NEVER If a dobe's registration number begins with "WZ" it means they are a carrier of the albino gene. THESE dogs shouldn't be bred even if they are of an accepted color.
My understanding is that a "WZ" registered Dobie may also just CARRY the gene for albinism, if I read the following information correctly (?) but breeding TWO carriers would result in an all-albino litter (?)
But- any doberman that has a "Z" comes from stock that is.... well not the best doberman genes.
Two carriers of a simple recessive gene might produce none or all affecteds in a litter but over time should produce 1/4 affected, 1/2 carrier, 1/4 clear. Two affecteds (ie white)would produce all affected.
I've seen some very nice Dobermans with Z in their numbers, who were of an accepted color and had no white dogs for 4-5 generations previous. I just wouldn't recommend breeding them if you should end up buying one.
