BTW, I agree with several members here who believe that fresh raw food so boosts and enhances the immune system that many parasites and interlopers that would fell a dog who is trying to survive on cereal-food run into a good barrier of immune-system response in a healthy well-fed dog.
After Katrina, and after seeing and helping to raise funds for and watching the effect on the dogs of heartworm treatment (our city rescued many Katrina-abandoned dogs), I am heartworm-phobic.
