Our beautiful pup has improved so much in the house training area. One area where I struggled though was during the morning bath. When he was wetting his crate each night, I would bath him each morning. Of course, by the time he was washed & dried (remember those ultra cold temps), he already had to pee. He had many an accident on the bathroom floor. So I started to put him in the tub to dry him, and of course there were a couple of accidents there, but it was better than the floor.
Well this morning the pup decided to join me in the shower ( he apparently has decided that he likes his baths, finally), so he got an impromptu bath/shower with me. He likes to dry himself by rolling around on the floor with a couple of big fluffy towels, so I let him do that while I finished my shower.
Then I helped him finish drying off and then finished drying and dressing myself. While I was drying my hair, all of a sudden I thought I heard water running in the tub. I turned and looked and he had jumped into the tub to pee. I loved it! Such a better choice than the floor! The only bad part was that I had thrown all the soaking wet towels in there already, so now they have been re-soaked in white vinegar.
But how can I complain!
What is more funny is that he struggle to jump into the tub by himself still as it has high sides and the floor is lower than the tub by a few inches. So he really wanted to get in there to get there unassisted.
Just my funny story of the day. I'm sure there will be more.
When living in an apartment in California (well, more like a large box) my gsd learned to go in the tub due to his constant diarrhea from intesinal upset and sensitive stomach. It was easy to clean and easier than on the carpet- it was explosive.
(wish I knew about RAW back then.) He didn't mind the tub at all!
