Chewing on feet is usually allergies. Could be to anything, tho. Food, stuff in the air, who knows. The vet will probably be able to give you some idea. In some areas, there are a lot of allergens in the air right now.
Richard,
I had considered that. She is a nervous nellie in many ways; firework and thunder phobia, escape artist behavior, clinginess, on leash aggression.....hey, we rescued her from the pound; she was cute. She's not perfect, but she's a good little house dog.
In the years that we've had her, I've managed to improve these things *dramatically*, but never really "fixed" them. It seems that whenever there is upset to the routine, one or another of these behaviors will resurface.
Once, my husband and I were walking the dogs, and he went into the grocery store to get something, while I waited outside with the dogs. Several days later, my husband left the house, and a few minutes later, I let the dogs out to "air" themselves. Little Abby hopped the low part of the fence unnoticed, and 10 minutes later, I get a phone call from the grocery store. Seems she had gone the six blocks to the same store, let herself in, and was walking up and down the aisles (I really think she was looking for "Dad").......she's a nut. But, we love her just the same..... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />
At any rate, the chewing has really seemed to stop for the most part. She's resting quietly beside my computer chair as I type. Maybe whatever allergen it was is no longer present, or whatever she ate while she was missing has worked its way through her system, or whatever anxiety she was having over our being gone is fading into the background. Who knows...
