Is marker training the same as clicker training? I've done some of that too and the dogs enjoy it. Myself and OH are at work full-time M-F, so finding time in the evenings has always been difficult. I know it's important though, so we'll make more of an effort.
The reason we've relaxed Angel's training was because she's pretty obedient around the house and 98% trustworthy around other dogs. Chopper and Trixie are a handful and they both have a sense of entitlement that needs to be knocked on the head asap.
My husband thinks that any kind of attention is a privilege, but I just needed to clarify that training, exercise and grooming is ok.

Clicker training is marker training, yes, with a clicker instead of a verbal marker.
I know it's hard. However, it isn't just important -- it's critical. And with four dogs, you have to make the commitment. You have made the commitment, by acquiring them!
After you exercise them, a few short training sessions a day are better than one longer and possibly frustrating one.
I'd start with the pack video, beginning to end, and then I'd watch esp the marker part of Basic Ob carefully, then all of it.
Hey Ruth, I don't have much else to add to Connie's great advice. But I just wanted to commend you on your efforts to work with all your dogs. And especially taking in the Bull breeds!

Hey thanks for that! I'm an absolute suckers for those boof-heads! Chopper and Trixie were supposed to only be fosters, but we just couldn't let them go. I'm not allowed foster anymore, cause clearly I'm lying when I promise not to try and keep them
