I have 4 dogs ranging from 10 to 20 months old. The youngest, Yiannis (male b&t GSD) was out on my patio area at about 2am on Wednesday morning. I'd got a drink from the kitchen and he wanted to go out so I opened the door for him.
I heard the worst screeching I've ever heard and opened the door. Yiannis was lying on his left hand side near the door.
He's a lovely dog who wouldn't hurt a fly but after malicious calls to the RSPCA and the Local Council from my new neighbours and after they've thrown rotten meat and broken glass over my fence I though tit wa them.
But maybe Yiannis disturbed an intruder. An opportunist ooking to break into someone's house.
Or maybe it was my ex-husband who doesn't like dogs and when we were in Court last week almost shouted at the Judge because I go to "doggy school" on a Tuesday evening.
I'm trying to make it as public as possible - local media, shops, posters, local schools etc so EVERYONE her eknows what sort of scum we have nearby.
Anyway, I would like, if possible foryou all to pray for Yiannis and that he gets better quickly, without too much pain and discomfort.

The vet isn't sure. She said that the wounds weren't animal bites (which given the timescale of me getting outside and the fact that there is secure fencing over 2m in height all round an animal couldn't have done it).
She thinks it was some sort of long, think instrument with some sort of point on the end but coudln't say what. Maybe ascrewdriver? Knife? Sharp piece of plastic? It could be anything really.
The Police and RSPCA are also now involved so hopefully some one will help out in terms of determining what it cuold've been.
Also the local news centre has been contacted so it will go out on TV across the whole County.
I spent some time with Yiannis today (he's at my Mom's for a few days to be quiet away from my other dogs so they don't bother him too much). He's really not himself, which I suppose is to be expected but he was crying and whimpering when I went to the house. Not because of pain. He cowered away from me in fear. I just hope he doesn't become fearful of all people because of this.
Still, once he's healed physically, I can take my time working with him again to get his confidence up. He's only 10 months old so I'm hoping that he'll gte back to his usual gremlin self before too long.
did you think for a moment that its not the dog they have problems with but you? there are some real stupid haters in this world. suggest keeping your pupper crated when not at home and in constant sight when you are. suggest arming youself with pepperspray, lights and a camera
