Thanks. Here is my dog's diet: Chicken, beef, turkey, fish, eggs, goat, lamb, plenty of bones, kelp, salmon oil, and alfalfa as supplements. The food is raw. If we have some cooked veggies left over he gets it. This is a rare occasion. In your opinion, is that a balance diet?
Looks like a fine diet to me. I'd add vit. E to go along with that fish oil, but other than that, you've got a lucky dog.
If you're looking to add anything new, plain yogurt would be the next thing to add. It's not critical, but it's another protein souce and helps keep friendly gut bacteria around.
I'm assuming that you've not seen anything that makes you suspect otherwise? Poops are regular, small and firm? Coat/skin/ears/eyes all clear? If so, you're doing just fine.
Side question... how do you serve yogurt with rmbs, meats, veggies, etc? are they all separated or mixed together? and if a dog doesn't finish his/her meal, can it easily be saved for the next meal?

In my house it really depends on the dog. If they clean their dish all by themselves no problem in just glopping it in separately. If they are picky eaters I'll mix it with organs or burger.
As far as the next meal if they don't clean their bowl within a reasonable time frame you can pick it up and put it in the fridge covered up. I would only do this a couple times though.
I heard yogurt can really help if they ever get diarrhea. I never had that problem, so I never fed yogurt to my dog. And Tracy, yes, every thing seems fine. I was just wondering if my diet was good, since there is so much conflicting info out there, especially coming from vets.

Laurent, most GP vets have close to zero dog-nutrition education.
