Just wanted to introduce everyone to my Dutch Shepherd "Riot". She is almost 6 months old and she keeps me running. So far she has pulled the dryer vent off the house, dug up the underground electrical to the pool, and last week I caught her climbing the ladder to the pool. But on a positive, she is so cute and I can't stay angry with her.
Sounds like a BORED UNDER EXERCISED & UNDER STIMULATED dog that is unsupervised. It took more then 15 seconds to do all that damage. Where were you while this was taking place?!
You are very lucky that the pup wasn't hurt doing all that distruction.
A pup teather to you or crated when you can't be 100% eyes on would not have the opportunity to do all that!!
Yes I realize it is my fault for not supervising her 100%. It has been a good 6 yrs since I have had a puppy in the house and she is my first dutch/malinois. As far as her being bored and under stimulated? She is worked everyday. She is up at 5:00 am, tracking by 5:30, walked or ran every morning and evening. That does not include training time. Which is usually several hours a day. Saturday and Sunday is an all day training session.
She sounds lovely It is amazing how fast they can get in trouble! My pup is almost a year old and still manages to get in a fair amount of trouble if I look away...he knows if I am doing something else :P
