I don't have a doggie picture with myself in it yet =3 In time!
I'm Rico's mum, whom you may have heard about through Jaimie Craig. She's fostering him for us while we get the paperwork done on our new house. I've been researching into dogs for months now, even joined the Doberman Talk forum (I had originally wanted a doberman) and when I saw this guy on the shelter webpages...I made the mistake of "just going to visit him" while I dropped off some donations. Yep. Just a visit.
I need better pics, he really is like two-face in real-life he's extremely sheperdy from some angles and almost pure pitbull from others. He'd been surrendered to the shelter multiple times but the person who had him since he was a puppy said that the parents were a black german shepherd and a pitbull. We're thinking that the black-german shepherd could have been a Dutch sheperd.
I'm a part-time artist, part-time office worker who loves animals. I'm involved in pet rat rescue in my spare time. I love hiking and wanted a companion who could carry his own pack and also make me feel more secure if I'm out in the woods by myself. We're planning on making some home-made agility equipment and trying out some dog-sports with him. Probably nothing competitive, but you never know =3 He's primarily a pet but we are interested in learning more about the dog-world.
He is mine and my partner Coureton's first dog (not counting those "perfect" childhood dogs, if you know what I mean =3) and we already love him a lot. I really need to stay away from petstores...I think I'm going to walk out with their whole inventory of toys and not enough money...
He absolutely is intent on watching everything that goes on.
He has an adorable partially flopped ear and a slightly goofy expression when he's happy.
I just love watching him move, he's a nicely shaped dog, if a little soft around the middle just now.

Welcome!
Normally I wouldn't consider responding to a post that referred to a dog's mommy or to a furkid, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt because you're Jaimie's friend.
LOL don't worry, I'm not one of "those people." I thought it would be a cute way to do an intro post =3 I know my dog's a dog. I generally avoid the "furkid" thing.
I'm so lucky to have Jaimie, because being my first dog, despite ALL of the reading and research I've done, I've got the whole "OMG is he SICK? IS HE DYING? Did I ruin him FOREVER?!" problem. I've been told new parents go through this too LOL
Oh dear. I'm trying to resist clicking those links...I mean, Rico's gentle with toys...they'll last a long time...that makes it OK right?
Yes so much to look at o.o I can see a number I've earmarked for future purchases.
We'll definitely be buying Rico a nice leather Leerburg tug toy among other things once we get over the initial smack to the pocketbook of all those first, necessary supplies + vet visit. Oi there are a lot of them!
