Interesting. I know a number of years ago I used to hear from people online that working line Malinois weren't any good for herding because they would attack the sheep. When I would point out mine didn't, I was simply told that it would happen given enough time. Some of this did come from people in this area who don't have Malinois. That attitude has changed as my dogs continued to train/trial and do well, without injuring sheep :-)
But maybe that's where that attitude came from, some actual events. Never could figure out why they were so adamament it would happen.
I will say I haven't run into any trainers in this area who wouldn't work with my dogs because of their breed, but I also haven't worked with all the trainers in the area, I checked out a few then settled on Terry, who I've done all my training with since.
Do you know if the dogs in question were working line, show/performance lines, a combination, ??
The ignorance of people toward the breed in this sport is unfortunate, and its sad that none of the people I work with will touch them. The dogs mentioned came from mostly show lines, and a handful of working lines, with the majority coming from one particular breeder. None from you or the other working lines down by you. I've heard nothing but great things about the dogs you produce
