She was Midwest KG President for eight years and KG Secretary for seven terms, and has been instrumental in the development of the organization in the United States. She is currently the Secretary for DVG America and has held that office since 1989. She also holds membership in United Schutzhund Clubs of America and was a founding member in 1975.
Sandi has received the DHV Gold Handler's Medal and VDH Gold Handler's medal. She received her DHV judge's license in 1989 and has judged over 250 trials. She has been honored to have judged seven DVG Nationals, the 2005 IFR World competition in Orlando, FL and several regional championships.
Her first schutzhund dog in 1974 was a Great Dane, Big Bertha, VII, SchH III, INT, UDT, AD. Bertha is still the only Great Dane in the United States who earned all of the schutzhund and AKC titles. Sandi won the LV/DVG America SchH II Championship in 1989 in California with Xid vom Specialblut. When Xid retired he had eight 100 point tracking scores along with numerous “V” ratings overall. Xid went onto his SchH III title and Sandi has since titled six other dogs from SchH I through SchH III and several others to various schutzhund titles. Sandi’s most recent SchH 3, Drago von Landholz, earned his SchH I through III, with a 100 track and a V rating in protection in 66 days. Sandi also earned an IPO FH with a V rated score and placed 2nd in the FH2 competition at the 2010 AWDF Championship under extremely adverse conditions. Sandi’s newest pup should be ready to start his career next fall and she looks forward to getting back on the field.
