I used oatmeal and other root veggies to control the softness of the stool. For awhile, we went through some very hard, painfull stools until I hit on the right mix. I also used Fromm's Salmon Ala Veg. A good, non-Chinese food. PF's are an autoimmnune disease -- so whatever you can do to avoid provoking the immune system. That means avoiding grains like wheat and corn, no more vaccinations. Mostly just pay a lot of attention to his diet and how thing react. Same for the Protopic. KV Vet had about the best price on the Ketaconizole. Surgery, once the first option, has taken a back seat to the drug-based approach. Also my dogs stool appears to be normal. Charlie- thanks for the ingredient list on Fromm's dog food. There is a retailer in my city who stocks their salmon product. I really appreciate all the time and info from everyone. It has been very helpful.
