Thanks for the additional info Connie. Could you recommend a salmon based dog food. I currently feed him Chicken Soup for the Dog Lovers Soul.

I found this one pretty quickly, but if you will please bump this late this afternoon I can look more carefully.
Also please tell me if you have access to real salmon at any kind of reasonable price.

Basically what Connie said.
I eventually wound up on a raw diet of mostly chicken and beef heart. I used oatmeal and other root veggies to control the softness of the stool. For awhile, we went through some very hard, painfull stools until I hit on the right mix.
I also used Fromm's Salmon Ala Veg. A good, non-Chinese food.
PF's are an autoimmnune disease -- so whatever you can do to avoid provoking the immune system. That means avoiding grains like wheat and corn, no more vaccinations. Mostly just pay a lot of attention to his diet and how thing react.
Many people often recommend this support group,

About the cheapest place I found for cyclosporine was the generic stuff at CostCo. Same for the Protopic. KV Vet had about the best price on the Ketaconizole.
Surgery, once the first option, has taken a back seat to the drug-based approach.
If you are lucky, you will have only the first attack and it won't come back.

Connie- I do not have access to salmon except purchasing it at the local market. Also my dogs stool appears to be normal.
Charlie- thanks for the ingredient list on Fromm's dog food. There is a retailer in my city who stocks their salmon product.
I really appreciate all the time and info from everyone. It has been very helpful.

I didn't really think so .... but you never know who is a salmon fisherman, or works in a meat department, etc.
OK, I have a couple more foods to research later today.
