My most aggressive chewer also gives a paws up to the big Nylabones. No risk of gnawing off a piece bigger than a grain of rice--but not as hard as an elk antler (which has broken teeth at my house, meaning expensive dental work.)
Logan loves those dinosaur toys...they are fabric but way tougher than the average stuffed dog toy. He still has his pterodactyl, its 7 years old. Anything else he will destroy in 10 minutes.
They're called Tuffy's, and you can get small or huge ones.
I am thinking about one of the tuffy pigs since they are large enough that he can't get the whole thing in his mouth - his mo is to find an edge with his teeth, pin the prey, and pull! Ill look for the super large nylabones too
Kristin- you cannot go wrong with Tuffy Piggy. The toofy monster loves it, just be sure when your toofy one starts swinging it around you have stowed the breakables. I learned this the hard way.
I do believe Leerburg has both sizes.
My two GSDs both have their own black Kong. The black ones are the hardest made. One of the dogs gets a new one every couple of months because he will eventually split it in two. The other dog has had one for a couple of yrs now.
One of the Border terriers I had would go through anything, black kongs included, in a matter of days, even hours sometimes. It just depends on the individual dog.
