I would of liked to challenge these working dogs lines to actually go to a show ring with their fine dogs, oops! EXCELLENT!, and see what happens!
We could actually test those judges and breeders that are politicaly choosers and SHOW them what a REAL GSD is all about, 'cause all they want to do is breed and sell and don't give a damn about the breed, just their pockets.
The reason is:
That is why i got away from the GSD in the first place... I finally gave up and got me self a mixed bi-colour that looks like GSD and better temperament and don't have to run the vet for ear or skin infection or worry about fear bitting...
My mistake, i should have not gone to a show to find a breeder, i was young and impressed easily.
but reading about it in this forum brought my love of the Breed back into me, thanks to you all....
I still surf and find those awful AKC sites that make us all mad. Consider it a weird hobby of mine.
My current favorite site is this famous AKC judge that's written a book about pet training( strange though how when you check him out on the AKC website judges bio's that the guy is only a *provisional* judge - he likes to exaggerate. A lot! ) The website provides a 3 page resume about the guy with all sort of whoppers tha are meant to fool the uninformed. For those people that have been into dogs more than two weeks, the guy's exaggerations are crystal clear.
Said judge sells/imports German *showline* GSD's "from the finest lines" in West Germany ( and *only* West Germany)as personal protection dogs while saying that a SchH title insures you of a dog that will protect you ( ) . He goes on to say that he doesn't import *inferior* Czech dogs or any dogs from the former Eastern Block countries and goes on to state that they're poorer breeding stock.
Yaah....right.
Oh yeah, he likes to award himself phony military titles also.
Will, i'm throught doing that... now i look in great sites like this one where temperament strive instead of colour and how far the back leg can go. As a young girl i fell in the GSD pot and these people really put me off when i ended up with a fear biter, health ect... I kept her, trained her with help, finally when she got 6 year old i gave her up but i manage to get her bad temp under control (with some help), i just wanted to make sure that who ever would get her would not have a problem so she wouldnt' end up at the bouchter. there goes my first experience...
