.....a vets office told me that I would have to "catch her up on her shots", and they wanted me to let them administer the shots for 8 weeks, 10 wks, and 12 wks all at once! .....
If I were you, I would call back, make sure I had heard this suggestion correctly from the *vet*, then I would ask what VetMed association the vet was a member of. If no answer was forthcoming, I'd call the Tennessee Veterinary Medical Association.
Thanks for the contact info, Connie. I will call them back but I'm 99% sure that's what they meant because they gave me a price rundown and that included the three sets of vaccines. I will definately call and report them if I am right because all of those vaccines could cause very serious problems for puppies. what a bunch of crooks.
Kristen, with respect I totally disagree with you. Dogs do not need this many vaccinations. At most two puppy shots at 7 and 12 weeks (only parvo and distgemper) and a rabies shot. Never a booster. If people want to confirm this have a titters test done every year to verify immunity. There are so many problem from vaccinations its not worth the risk !!
Hi Ed what age should a pup receive his 1st rabies shot ?
Thanks, Sherri
Interesting suggestions on thread!
All overlook original post!
Stacia is military.
Stacia should/must most likely follow base Vets advice on shots and worming.
We are all afforded our opinions, until we have to travel internationally with our dogs.
When traveling/shipping internationally with dogs, you are often required to present an International Certificate of Health.
Many countries still require a quarantine period.
When traveling internationally you are bond by the laws/requirements of the country that you are entering!
Often Military are afforded special status, however I assume this record of health must be signed off by base Vet
Therefore our opinion will matter little!
As far as worming goes, the only opinion afforded to Stacia would probably be which products to use?

The only reason I am replying to a message directed to Ed Frawley is: I happen to have his recommended vaccination protocol bookmarked.
