The suggestions to teach a "quiet" command may work and they are certainly less expensive than buying a bark collar. LOL.
The only time that I've seen a problem with the bark and hold is when the handler left the bark collar on the dog and then tried to get him to bark. The dog barked once, got stimmed, and then it took several weeks to get him to bark again.
Even if you use an Ecollar for your regular training it's a rare dog that will associate the Ecollar with the bark collar.
Lou Castle has been kicked off this board. He is an OLD SCHOOL DOG TRAINER with little to offer.
