They just had a peice slamming BARF with a vet (and the BARF foods they discussed were all commercial products <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> ) and, get this, the segment was sponsored by Pedigree......
no proponents of BARF were there, of course.......

Here's the important piece of the message for me: "It was sponsored by Purina."
Don't you feel sorry for the 98% of the public (OK, I'm exaggerating to make a point) who saw that segment and assumed it was gospel because it was on a "news" show?
I would be suspicious of any news segment that only featured proponents of one point of view and is sponsored by a company that has a vested interest in making sure people buy commercial dog food. Now that I am feeding my dog an all natural diet people ask me what I feed her that makes her coat so beautiful and her so healthy looking(she's ten years old.) I tell them and most people are surprised. I say the proof is in the results. At 10 she has the energy of a young dog and is very healthy.
since the subject has been brought up I would like to ask if anyone can reccommend any of the websites that sell the pre-packaged BARF meals. Or if there is a particular reason I should avoid them. I am currently feeding my GSD puppy and my 2 yr old Golden Ret. commercial dog food. Do not crucify me I am trying to make the switch to BARF.
