I was wondering what advise any one would have for me.My 5 month old pup growls and screams like a warning when he is moved while sleeping.I am not a expert but I have 2 solutions 1) give him a hard correction either choker or e-collar every timke he does this or 2)give him a treat at the same time I wake him up or move him while heis sleeping......I havent done either yet I just ignore it I dont wanna ruin him by over corecting him.But the time is now before the problem escalates. thank you in advance!
Paul - this dog needs to be wearing a drag line that is attached to a dominant dog collar http://leerburg.com/746.htm When the dog growls you need to calmly lift his fron feet off the ground and you calmly tell him NOOOO YOUUUU DONTTT DOOO THATTTT !!
You dont get mad you just show him that this behavior is 100% an inapprpriate response.
Had you made the mistake of priasing the dog - which is what a lot of people mistakenly do- you would be sending the message that this behavior is is OK.
I am 2 hrs and 45 minutes into editing my next DVD titled Dealing with Dominant and Aggressive dogs http://leerburg.com/301.htm The editing should be done next week - then probbaly a week or so to get pressed.
