My High Drive Dog will Never Settle and Be Calm, What Can I Do?
Uploaded on May 16, 2011 •

Back in April, Michael Ellis was here at Leerburg to film a couple of new protection training DVDs. We filmed one of the foundation of protection training for puppies and adolescent dogs and another on protection exercises trainers can do without a decoy.
They will be out in the coming months of 2011 and will be announced in our newsletter when the editing is finished.
While Michael was here, we decided to post a request to our Leerburg Facebook page asking for training questions which we intended to film.

I love this, people look at me funny when my nutter is calm in my home, everything is taught inside is quiet these places you can go stupid and run and play and explode.

I love this clip. I have one of those 'dogs on crack' that michael talks about. She was my first working dog ever, and not the type for a beginner. I could not understand why she never was relaxed around me... After watching this clip, I now know why and have worked to fix it... this clip is wonderful, I started taking her places and having down time with her, everyday. I stopped any work in the house with her, and she came around and is wonderful now. She can even sit and watch tv with me, which shse never could do, she would have been pestering me the whole time. It seemed everytime I found a minute or three to sit down, she pestered. She now comes and asks once or twice for attention, I ignore and she goes and lays down.
Of course my second dog is layed back and needed me to be her excitement trigger... it helped her become more 'flashy" Thank you Michael.
