My dog got pregnant on accident and is about to have her puppies. I am so worried about what is the right thing to do, could you help direct me to some information?

We are new pet owner and we rescued two Chihuahua dogs, one male and one female. This past July my dog went into heat, and I got advice from my neighbor who has several dogs about when I need to separate them, I was told in her 3rd week of being in heat. So I did not separate my dogs and now she is pregnant, I took her to the Vet and they want to terminate the pregnancy and we did not feel that was the right thing to do, however we did an have our male dog fixed soon after we found out, I know it was my mistake not asking the correct person the question and I accept full responsible for my lack of knowledge. However she is going to deliver any day now and I am scared to death on what to do and not to do. I have read so much online since I have found out and I don't know which advice I should follow. My female dog is young, she got pregnant in her second cycle and I feel so guilty about that but please direct me to the right information.
