Full Question:
Hello,I was wondering if Vibactra Plus would be effective in treating a urinary tract infection. My dog started showing some symptoms yesterday but the vet can't fit her in for 2 weeks. Would this be appropriate to treat her and if so, is there a recommended dosage?
Many thanks for your time and assistance,
Jaime
Cindy's Answer:
Hi Jaime,
When I read the info on the Vibactra page, it mentions that one of the ingredients is effective for cystitis and urinary tract infections. The dosages are on the bottle and on page 21 of this document. With that said, I’d want a definitive diagnosis on what is really going on with your dog. Can you get her in to another vet sooner or at least drop off a urine sample at your regular vet for them to test?
Two weeks is a long time to wait to see the doctor if there is a problem. What if she has a kidney problem, diabetes or some other fairly serious issue?
If this was my dog, I’d probably go ahead and start the Vibactra AFTER I caught a urine sample and had it tested and I’d definitely find a vet that could see my dog as soon as possible.
Please note that we are NOT vets here so we aren’t qualified to give medical advice.
