I try not to give my god kelp or alfalfa because of the allergy risk, is there enough of either in Honest Kitchen to be a possible problem?
Full Question:
I have a quick question. I am going to be doing a lot of traveling this summer and I have been looking at Honest Kitchen. I try not to give my dog kelp or alfalfa because of the allergy risk. Is there enough kelp in Honest Kitchen to be a possible problem? Thanks.
Cindy's Answer:
I checked into the Kelp and Alfalfa content in the Honest Kitchen food. Unfortunately I am unable to say how much is really in any of the food. The first ingredient on the list is usually the largest amount in the food, however, I was also told that sometimes the amount is very close to ingredients down the list. For example, Preference has about the same amount of Alfalfa as Spinach which are the 1st and the 6th ingredients listed.
The Thrive does not have any Alfalfa listed and I was told that it has 2% Kelp when it is hydrated. The Embark also does not have Alfalfa and has about 2-3% of Kelp when hydrated.
I hope this helps in making your decision.
