Hi,
I would like to order a ball on string. Just had a few questions.
I saw Michael Ellis's video on ball play and he said the ball should be right in size and squishier for inexperienced dogs so they can get a good grip.
I have an 8 month belgian malinois. Which one of your balls on string would you recommend (he isn't good at gripping my hard rubber ball) and which size?
Thanks in advance
I like the foam ball with the leather strap, it's light and much easier to grip. I use this ball with all of my Malinois and German Shepherds.
The size is dependent on the dog, for many young Malinois and GSDs I use the medium but for a really big dog, I'll use the larger size. If the ball is too big the dog will have a hard time grabbing it.
Later on, when the dog is really doing well I will also use the erratic ball on a leather strap. It's a harder material and more durable but I don't use this one until the dog is feeling really empowered and gripping the foam ball with a lot of confidence.
