How to clean my dog's stainless steel HS prong collar? The hair around our yellow Lab's neck is turning black.

Good afternoon, the discoloration around your dog's neck is not usually from the collar being dirty, it's a reaction from some dogs to the stainless or chrome metal.

I would suggest a curogan prong collar for a light-colored dog that is showing discoloration around the neck. That said, some dogs still experience discoloration with curogan but far less.

I'm not sure how long your dog is wearing the stainless prong each day but you could limit the time just during walks or training only and see if that helps as well.
