I picked one of these http://leerburg.com/797.htm up at a new petstore in town last night. I was thinking this should keep dixon busy for a little while at least.
It took him about 5 minutes to pop the treat out of the ball... he then proceeded to chew on it for the next hour and a half. I guess I didn't expect him to figure out how to get the treat out so quickly. Did I do something wrong? I only left one side of the treat in (as it comes packaged).

My older dogs do that too......I put smaller soft treats (Zukes) inside of the ball for the older dogs and the actual treats that go with the toy I give to puppies and mellower chewers.

My dog started to tear apart the actual ball. I thought she was chewing the end piece, but she popped it off and decided to chew through the rubber in about 2 minutes. It's not an everlasting toy for dogs you like to chew with their molars.
Edited:
Just adding it took her about 5 minutes when she first got the toy to get both end pieces off. Second time, one end piece was popped off immediately and the ball torn an the edge within 2 minutes. I found it to be a total waste of money. It was easier for me to just buy her the end pieces to chew. The locking treats are very tough to put together without breaking them, I will not be buying either of these again.

Thanks all-- I might try the locking ones... but he has gotten really good chew time out of bully sticks. So far those are the best-
We have the food cute but he seems to lose interest more quickly than when he can see the food. Maybe I need to overload it again to make it interesting.
