Is a dog grabbing a dog by the scruff of the neck and shaking it like a toy an aggressive behavior? How can I correct this?

Full Question:
I have a 9 month old GSD spayed female that really is a sweet dog. She generally is good with other dogs. I have been taking her to the dog park since she was 6 months for socialization and excercise (I now know this is not recommended by Leerburg and plan on discontinuing my visits).

Is a dog grabbing a dog by the scruff of the neck and shaking it like a toy an aggressive behavior? How can I correct this?

She does this to only specific dogs. 2 dogs so far. Today she got in a fight with 1 of the dogs at the park. The owner of the other dog ended up getting bit by his own dog by trying to break it up. How do I reverse this kind of behavior? Do you think she will become an aggressive dog? How can I prevent this now while she is still young? (I am hoping this fight which didn't get to crazy does not instantly make her aggressive towards all dogs).

Please help! I do have a couple of videos including Basic Dog Obedience which I think I need to rewatch.

Thanks,
Brian

You need to understand socialization. You can read this to get our definition of socializing.

Please stop taking her to the dog park and don’t let her interact with other dogs. Grabbing by the scruff and shaking is not only aggressive, but if she does it to the wrong dog she could seriously injure the other dog (or if it’s small, kill it).

Your dog needs structure, leadership and training with you. She’s well on her way to being aggressive.

I’d recommend:
Pack Structure for the Family Pet
Basic Obedience (which you mention you have)
Dealing with Dominant & Aggressive Dogs

We also have a number of eBooks, which include topics that may help you.
