Bite Tugs tugs

Trainers often find that their dogs prefers certain tug toys over others. Using the right toy for training will increase your dogs learning curve.

This is especially true with dogs involved in the biting sports or even dogs involved in Agility – where a tug reward is often the reward of choice.

Handlers who have only taught their dog to bite one biting surface can quickly find their dog having a problem transitioning from tugs to sleeves or tugs to suites.

Had these dogs been exposed to more biting surfaces when they were young that transition would not have been as difficult.

You may also find that a younger dog that gets sticky on his outs when working on a soft tug will out quicker when put on a fire hose tug or one of the harder leather tugs.
