Marker Training  4 Hours A communication system between you and your dog. Reward Based Training Marker training came to the world of dog training back in 1993. Before that point dogs were trained in the “yank and crank” system of dog training. Basically the William Kohler style of avoidance training. Our new online course on The Power of Training Dogs with Markers was released in January of 2024. Back in 2005 Ed Frawley, the owner of Leerburg, released his first DVD on the subject of Markers and Reward Based Training (also called clicker training). While the conceptual information in that old DVD is still accurate today, the past 20 years have seen our knowledge of how to apply markers and reward-based training become the gold standard on dog training. When the concepts in this course become the foundation of a training program we see the relationship between dogs and handlers improve and our dogs look forward to our training sessions because training becomes fun. ____________________________________   Course Outline    Module 1: Introduction  Segment 1  Meet Ed Frawley  Segment 2  What is Marker Training?  Segment 3  The 5 Core Words of Marker Training  Segment 4  Understanding Timing of Your Mark  Segment 5  Conditioning the "YES" Marker  Segment 6  Mechanics of Reward Delivery  Segment 7  Why "YES" must be a Release  Segment 8  Duration Marks  Segment 9  Neutral Releases that are not rewarded  Segment 10  Negative Marks - What are they?  Segment 11  Your Voice is a Powerful Tool - learn to use it      Module 2: Food Rewards  Segment 1  How to Deliver Food Rewards  Segment 2  Your Dogs Food Drive & High Value Food Rewards.  Segment 3  The Size and Color of Your Food Rewards  Segment 4  Movement Builds Drive  Segment 5  Reward Placement  Segment 6  Create A Reward Event  Segment 7  Food Vs Toy Rewards  Segment 8  Weaning Dog Off Food Rewards      Module 3: Advanced Marker Training  Segment 1  Markers Produce Thinking Dogs - Active Vs Reactive Dogs  Segment 2  Marker Train a Friend  Segment 3  Remote Rewards  Segment 4  Don't Name a Behavior Until You LOVE IT!  Segment 5  Using Markers to Train the "Look"  Segment 6  Using Markers to Train the Hand Touch  Segment 7  Dominant/Aggressive Dogs & Marker Training      Module 4: Happy Training - Where To Go From Here  Segment 1  Training Your Dog To Come When Called - Every Time!  Segment 2  Basic Dog Obedience  Segment 3  Intermediate Dog Obedience  Segment 4  Remote Collar Training For the Pet Owner  Segment 5  Exel-erated Learning

Marker Training

4 Hours

A communication system between you and your dog.

Reward Based Training

Marker training came to the world of dog training back in 1993.
